Babak Baharestani is an architect, gallerist, researcher, and visual artist based in Lisbon, whose work moves fluidly across architecture, design, and cultural studies. His practice engages with concepts such as memory, space, and perception, exploring these themes both through built projects and artistic productions. As the founder of Saye Architects and Saye Art Gallery, he has developed an interdisciplinary approach that integrates architectural design, academic research, and curatorial practice. His architectural projects are designed with an emphasis on the unique characteristics of each site and careful attention to the context in which the work is situated, while his artworks have been presented in numerous exhibitions and art fairs. His academic research focuses primarily on the history and culture of architecture. Alongside his architectural career, Baharestani has been pursuing Iranian music since 1995, performing on the setar under the guidance of master Jalal Zolfonoun. His focus is on preserving and promoting Iranian music as a living part of cultural heritage and identity.
